Rework

We are REWORK. We take apart discarded secondhand clothes and sew them into new collections. We call this design concept “serial upcycling.”

There will come a time when REWORK is no longer needed. A time without overflowing closets and overwhelmed clothing donation centers. Clothes come fresh from the 3D printer in the morning, customized to the latest trends and how you feel that day, and are eaten or smoked by evening. Everyone is happy, there’s no more waste, and everything is recyclable material. Sewing machines will only be found at Ballenberg, cotton will be grown only by vintage enthusiasts and, thanks to global warming, will thrive in the Emmental. That’s going to be a great time, Hallelujah Yippie Yeah.

But now is not the time for that. According to estimates, the existing mountains of clothing are enough to clothe six generations. We think that’s crazy! That’s why REWORK exists.
