VELT

VELT was founded in Switzerland in 2012 with the question: How can a classic leather shoe be produced in a more contemporary and responsible way? This gave rise to a brand whose philosophy remains shaped by this commitment to this day.

VELT gained international recognition shortly after its founding. In 2013 and 2016, the brand received the Swiss Design Award, and in 2013, Monocle magazine named VELT “Best Footwear Newcomer.”

The new vegan sneakers are manufactured in Portugal and combine a modern silhouette with a newly developed design engineered to reduce their environmental impact. At 8.7 kg of CO₂ per pair, their carbon footprint is significantly below the average for a conventional sneaker, which is around 16 kg. The calculation was performed by ClimatePartner and independently verified.

In addition to sneakers, the collection also includes a selection of leather bags. The collection features leather from organically raised cattle that is tanned in Germany. The focus is on the quality of the material, sourcing it as responsibly as possible, and the commitment to creating durable products that gain character over time.
