Slow Design—How Our One-of-a-Kind "Zanifi" Rugs Are Created.

Our Zanifi collection dates back to the early days of AIT SELMA and combines elements of Amazigh culture with the characteristics of Zen art.

Simplicity, minimalism, and naturalness in design result in durable products that continually adapt to changing living spaces.

The wool from the Siroua sheep of the Anti-Atlas Mountains is gently washed, combed, and spun by hand. Delicate shades of gray and beige are created by blending black and white, untreated wool. Natural dyes produce a wide variety of shades, ranging from yellow and red to blue, green, and brown.
The rugs, woven on high looms using the traditional craft technique of pictorial weaving, are sheared, washed, and then stretched out and dried in the sun. In a final step, the fringes are knotted and trimmed.

Our latest one-of-a-kind Zanifi pieces, crafted in Anzal by Zarah and Fatima Zouoau as well as Fatima Aït Hssan, will be available at OF GOODS starting in September 2026.
